You are remodeling your basement.

Finally you get to do it. The basement remodeling is about to start. You have been thinking about this for a long time.  You have made your plans. You have set a budget, you have a contractor and you are ready to go.

Remodeling the utility room and family room.

You are going to replace the outdated family room and laundry room. You have a basement design that shows a large family room and a good sized laundry room. With this plan you only have to move a couple walls and these are not weight bearing walls, which makes it easy. You will have enough room in the laundry room for a freezer, to fold clothes, and do your ironing.  It is a room you will enjoy working in. A half bath is added with very little additional plumbing.  This will keep the kids and their messes down here.

The contractor who will do the work comes highly recommended.  He is licensed by the state and carries insurance. He will get of all the permits that you need.  Now the only things you have to do is the fun stuff, like picking out the bathroom fixtures, the light fixtures, the flooring and the paint.  The contractor gave you a time line for the work and a guarantee of a discount if he cannot do it in time.

It has really been hard with all the people coming and going and tearing out the basement. Now that you are close to getting what you really want, you are beginning to think it will be worth it. You will have a brand-new basement with the rooms just like you dreamed of, super insulated walls, new drywall and paint and all new carpeting. The new washer and dryer are the water saving kind.

The basement remodeling will add enjoyment of the space for years and years.  The updated basement will add value to the house. You will have the basement you wanted.

Brand-new basement.

Due to the water damage in the basement, it had to be totally torn out. You looked at hundreds of basement designs and finally found one that you liked. You were lucky the damage was so intense. The insurance company is paying for this basement remodeling. The clean-up company came and did their job.  They stripped the basement, the drywall, insulation, carpeting and some of the wood. They treated the basement from mold and now it is ready to put back together.

You found a plan that lets you leave the plumbing where it was. However you can have everything you want. You added a shower to the bathroom. You put a guest bedroom in an unused part of the old oversized family room.  You are adding extra insulation to the walls for added energy efficiency.  The walls will have a new textured look.  The carpet and carpet pad are thicker and deeper.   It was easy to add more electrical outlets without much cost as the walls were gone.  Now you will have the outlets where you need them.
