How to Chose a Right Walnut Wood Flooring
74Choosing the right flooring can be a difficult task. In this modern age of advanced building material technology, line between laminate flooring and hardwood floors becomes a little more blurred. Especially when dealing with walnut wood flooring, the decision between going with a laminate or classic hardwood becomes a tough choice. In order to make the right decision, you are going to need to look at a few factors.
What kind of home are you putting the flooring in?
Before you move to the area of your decision regarding the actual flooring, is important to get a good understanding of what the actual project entails. There are many different reasons to renovate a room, and the right flooring choice is not the same for each reason.
If you are renovating a home for the purpose of rehabbing, flipping, or
just renting out, your goal should be different than if you are
rehabbing a home that you plan on living in. As opposed to a house that
you live in, and investment property rehab should have the number one
goal of keeping costs as low as possible, without sacrificing overall
quality.
It is important, however, to have a good idea of what level of home
your investment property is. If your potential rehabbing a high-end
home, or department in a high-end area of town, you may need to concern
yourself less with the price and more with the finished product. If you
are preparing to rehab a starter home or possibly an apartment for a
younger renter, it is probably more important that you make your
choices based on price.
If you are rehabbing a home that you live in, but still should not
dictate in and of itself whether or not you are focused on price. If
this is your first home, there is a high likelihood that you will not
live here for the rest of your life. In a scenario such as this, it
does not make sense to buy top-of-the-line materials that are designed
to last for 30 years, due to the fact that you probably will not live
there for more than five.
If you are redoing flooring at home that you plan on staying at for the
rest of your life, however, your goal should be a little different. In
this scenario, the number one concern should be the overall quality of
the product you pick. Walnut wood flooring is likely your best bet here.
Which route should you choose now that you know what type of home you are putting it in?
A walnut floor is a beautiful thing. Regardless of whether you go with
laminate flooring or hardwood flooring, the end result is going to be a
marvel either way. The differences between the two types of walnut wood
flooring are not going to come into play until later down the line.
Walnut hardwood flooring, upon very close inspection, we will look more
professional than walnut laminate flooring will. However to the
untrained eye, there will be no discernible difference, at least at
first.
The major difference between these two products is going to come as the
years passed by. Going with a walnut hardwood floor will give you a
flooring surface that with minimal care will last for decades, and more
importantly, can easily be repaired should it fall to a level of
disrepair.
Laminate flooring, on the other hand, will look great. However, as each
passing month goes by, the floor will begin to lose more and more of
its luster. The problem is that the thin laminate will only be able to
allow for a few sandings before there is no one left to stand at all.
If you correctly assess the needs of your rehab project, choosing the
correct walnut flooring option will become a considerably easier
decision to make.
